ST MARK’S COLLEGE
Over four centuries in the making.
The Audley End Estate is one of the great historic landscapes of England. It was here, in 1603, that St Mark’s College was first constructed, and it is here that it remains; Grade I listed, and as architecturally significant today as the day it was built.
Seven homes.
A new chapter, written with care.
Due to its Grade I listed status, we had the pleasure of working in close conjunction with Historic England on this project. As a result, Planning Permission and Listed Building Consent were granted for the conversion of St Mark’s College into four homes within the original historic fabric of the main building, alongside two homes converted from outbuildings and one newly built house within the grounds. Works are now underway.
In the same category as Buckingham Palace and St Paul’s Cathedral.
Grade I listing is reserved for fewer than two percent of England’s listed buildings - those of exceptional national significance, architecturally and historically. To work on a building of this status requires not just skill, but a particular kind of patience and care that very few are ever given the chance to demonstrate.
